Nail Polish at cheap rate

Do you end up spending upwards of $4 for a bottle of nail polish, only to have it start chipping, flaking, peeling, and fading within a couple of days? Do you paint your nails blue one day, only to decide the next day that you want pink nails, and feel guilty for removing that expensive polish? Are you short on cash but still want to have pretty nails? Well, it’s time to forget those expensive nail polishes! You can find low cost nail polish at your local drug store in fun colors. And guess what? It’s really not any different from the expensive stuff! I’m going to tell you about my favorite low cost nail polishes and let you decide which ones are right for you.
Petites are a very low cost nail polish that comes in a myriad of exciting colors, including ones with sparkles! This polish comes in a small .25 fl. oz. glass bottle that is, as the name suggests, petite. Bright Star is a great Petites polish. It is a clear polish with flecks of silver glitter, but not just little dots of glitter like in most polishes. In addition to the small dots of glitter, Bright Star contains long flakes of glitter. This looks great over a French manicure. I’ve found that Petites doesn’t often chip, but that the polish will just peel right off the nail in one piece. This is great for quick removal. Petites are definitely my favorite low cost nail polish. This polish can be found at stores like Wal-Mart, CVS, and Walgreens for around .99, but can also sometimes be cheaper.
Maybelline Colorama nail polish is a great little low cost polish from trusted brand Maybelline. Colorama comes in a cute .3 fl. oz. glass bottle with a tall cap for easy application. Maybelline says this is a five day polish, but it will start to peel, chip, or flake before five days is up. The gimmick with Colorama is the special top coats. In addition to the selection of colored polishes, there is also a selection of top coats available to give your polish a little kick with effects like glitter, shimmer, and pearl finishes. These top coats can be worn alone and in fact, my favorite Colorama top coat, #21, which is a milky barely-there shimmer, looks fantastic for a subtle shimmer to clean looking nails. These top coats would also look great over a French manicure. The actual colored polishes come in a variety of shades, with tones in the red, pink, and bronze family being the most abundant. Maybelline Colorama nail polish will remove easily, sometimes just peeling right off without acetone. I paid $1.82 for this nail polish at Wal-Mart.
N.Y.C. nail enamel is another low cost nail polish option. This polish comes in a cylindrical glass bottle and weighs in at .45 fl. oz. N.Y.C. nail enamel is known for its cheap price and wild color selection. Being that I’m in a glitter phase right now, I recently purchased #105A which is called Starry Silver Glitter. It’s a clear polish with small dots of silver glitter and larger dots of purple, blue, and silver glitter. It goes on very nicely. I also have #114A which I believe is called Taxi Cab, which as I’m sure you can imagine is bright yellow. The polish will start to peel, chip, or flake after a few days, sometimes making the use of acetone unnecessary. This polish can be found for under $1 at Wal-Mart and most drug stores.
Wet ‘n’ Wild nail color is a longtime favorite of those who love bright and flashy nail polish colors. This nail polish comes in a .5 fl. oz. glass bottle, making this the largest quantity of the nail polish in this article. Wet ‘n’ Wild chips and that is a fact of life. Every teenager who goes through a goth phase will undoubtedly purchase at least one bottle of Wet ‘n’ Wild’s black nail polish for around .99 at their local drug store. Wet ‘n’ Wild also sports a number of wild pinks, greens, blues, and purples.
Milani nail lacquer is on the high end of low cost nail polish, if that makes any sense. It comes in a rich looking .45 fl. oz. glass bottle with a tan cap. I say that this is on the high end of low cost nail polish because a bottle will usually run you about $2-$3, which is more than Maybelline Colorama, but less than Cover Girl or Revlon. Milani nail lacquer comes in an assortment of bright and bold shades, including blues and purples in addition to the standard pinks and reds. Milani nail lacquer also offers a special line of French manicure polishes, including a number of pink and beige tones as well as the illusive blue. Not too many people would do a French manicure in blue, but it looks surprisingly good. Milani also offers a base coat, top coat, and nail strengthener. It will take a few coats to get a color more closely resembling how it looks in the bottle and it will of course chip after a few days.
I hope that this article will help you in making the right decision about what low cost nail polish to purchase. I am also eager to hear about your experiences with them, so leave a comment!
